Hi Matt, This email is about to die, so change to csguppy@gmail.com, for further communication. I recently moved from central BC to Whitehorse, Yukon and decided to shed the old email. My memory is that I could not sleep that night, and so went “wandering” close to the main camp to collect moths and anything else I could find (for clarity, the main camp was 1.5 km south of Arnison Point, and I collected around the main camp). I do not remember the location of Arnison Point on Dundas Island. I do not remember collecting the bristletails (other than a vague memory of them being on a tree trunk, which could be an erroneous memory originating from other collecting), but the only habitat I collected in was conifer forest, probably spruce, hemlock and western red cedar. I do not remember ever collecting along the beach at the camp – I do not even remember a beach being present (steep bank to the water?). I think if you contact Rob Cannings at the RBCM, their database should have fairly precise coordinates for the campsite at Arnison Point. I did not stray far from the campsite, so any information Rob can find on the habitat of the campsite should work (there were botanists there as well). I have copied this to Rob. I am glad that you are finding the specimens of interest. CANADA BRITISH COLUMBIA DUNDAS ISLAND 1.5 KM SOUTH OF ARNISON POINT MAIN CAMPSITE 4m taken at night by lantern ( 12:30 - 3:30 am ) 21 JUL 1987 Crispin S. Guppy ROYAL BRITISH COLUMBIA MUSEUM ENT991-60994 70%EtOH MICROCORYPHIA Although I have coordinates for Dundas Island, I could not find Arnison Point. Do you know where this campsite was? Do you remember in what kind of habitat these bristletails were collected? Were they in rocky habitat, tree boles, etc?
